Naloxone Train-the-Trainer Training

Prepare your team. Strengthen your community.
Every second matters during an overdose emergency. This 2-hour in-person training is designed for individuals who will be responsible for training staff, teams, peers, organizations, or community members in the proper use of Naloxone.
Participants will leave prepared to confidently teach others how to recognize an opioid overdose and administer nasal Narcan safely and effectively.
One trained person can save a life. One trainer can prepare hundreds more.

*Space is limited to 30 participants for each training; once capacity has been reached, a waiting list will be created.

This training is ideal for any drug user health workforce member who will train staff, peers, or community members, including, but not limited to:
- Behavioral health professionals
- Community outreach staff
- Peer recovery specialists
- School and youth program staff

- Anyone responsible for training staff on overdose response protocols
What You’ll Learn
During this interactive training, participants will learn how to effectively teach their teams how to:
- List the names of common opioids
- Identify an opioid overdose
- Demonstrate the steps for administering naloxone
- Describe the Maryland laws surrounding administering naloxone and other protections provided when seeking emergency medical help
- Engage in compassionate education and outreach utilizing culturally humble language and tools
