The POINT Center MD Leadership Academy is an engaging, two-day learning experience designed to strengthen leadership across Maryland’s drug user health workforce. Through practical instruction, guided reflection, and collaborative learning, participants gain tools to navigate complex environments, support staff effectively, make informed decisions, and lead with greater confidence and purpose.

The Academy recognizes that strong leadership can emerge at every level. Whether participants are stepping into leadership, managing programs and teams, or guiding organizational strategy, they will leave better prepared to foster resilient workplaces and advance responsive, person-centered services throughout Maryland.

Participants are expected to attend both days of the Leadership Academy.

Registration will open in early Spring 2027.


The Leadership Academy is designed for professionals working within Maryland’s drug user health, harm reduction, behavioral health, and community service systems, including:

  • Emerging leaders
  • Supervisors and frontline managers
  • Program and senior managers
  • Executive directors and organizational leaders
  • Staff responsible for program implementation or performance management
  • Professionals with strategic, operational, or budget-related decision-making responsibilities
